Work Trip

This week Ryan traveled to Houston, Texas for work. As you can see from the first few pictures below he worked really hard! It just so happened that the Packers played in Houston while he was there. I'm sure they got a lot done but while he was having fun at the game, sleeping in a hotel by himself and being able to eat hot meals without rushing. Things were a little bit different for the boys and I.

We kept busy playing outside.....

Monkey see monkey do... Nolan saw his brothers throwing rocks so he wanted to also.

Bedtime was crazy busy. Getting 3 boys to settle down took some planning. First Nolan would go down as he's the easiest. Spencer and Easton got to read books and they took turns reading books to each other. Then Spencer would go to his bed while I tucked in Easton and then went back to Spencer's room. Eventually they would all fall asleep. I don't sleep well though because I'm always listening for someone to cry out or get out of bed.

I worked both mornings he was gone. So again getting everyone up, dressed and ready to go was a challenge. I found Nolan one morning in the garage having his breakfast and coffee while going for a ride in his car. Don't worry the cup was empty.

We played on the swing set. Nolan loves going up and sliding down. He makes me nervous when he slides like this!

Grandma came up to the cities and on her way through stopped at our house to decorate it. It looks perfect! Thanks Grandma!

Sink baths are the best thing about staying at Grandma's house. The big boys got to take one when they stayed there last weekend and Nolan had one the night before his surgery.

After the baths the boys for their first christmas catalog. Grandma taught them how to look at the toys and mark the things they want. Only I'm pretty sure they now think they are getting all of those things.

Grandma and I brought Nolan to the hospital bright and early on Thursday. He was having his ear tubes put in. He was WILD and wouldn't sit still for anything. We walked the halls a lot until it was time to go. Grandma and I had barely enough time to grab coffee and get back to the room before he was done. It's a very quick procedure. He did great and like the others the doctor told us it was needed. He had a lot of old fluid built up in his ear.

Finally done and he can drink milk again!

They are building a house right next door. It's Spencer's friend Sammy that's moving in. So Friday morning I found the boys in our bathroom cheering out the window "build Sammy's house!" Over and over to the workers.

We tried the pinterest idea and painted our bread. It turned out ok... maybe I didn't do it right. Either way they still thought it was fun.

He was very proud of his parking garage.

Friday nights are meant for cuddling and movies. 

I know the new recommendation is 2 years but we caved and turned his seat around. He's MUCH happier in the car now.

Family picture day is always crazy. Getting 5 littles to all look in one direction is hard enough. Hopefully we got one for the Christmas card.

I posted awhile ago something a mom of girls would never hear "Mom I just peed on the floor and the wall!" This is something else a mom of all girls would never see. Apparently he had to go so bad he couldn't wait to get in the house. Seriously I've never done this with him! Ryan came walking around the corner to finish unloading the van and this is what he saw!

You can tell he's been practicing! He wrote all of our names tonight! So proud of him.
