Spencer had off of school for Martin Luther King Day so Amanda and Sam joined us for a fun day of skiing. If Spencer decides he doesn't want to play hockey I will for sure be signing him up for a ski team. He has no fear and wants to ski with the big kids. He was racing me over jumps and down black diamonds that day to beat me to the chair lift so he could ride up alone.
Watch for him on the right side.
Easton got to come with and pick out his party decorations. We found these fun glasses and he talked me into them.
Spencer now knows how to text from his iPad, here he is sending Ryan messages one morning.
If Spencer could be anyone else he would be Barack Obama.
I had both Easton and Nolan in for an eye exam. I didn't have any concerns but felt they should have them checked. Both boys have 20/20 vision but Easton seems to have a color deficit. You know when they do the test with the dots of colors? Well there were time when Easton couldn't see any shapes on the page or only one instead of all three. He knows his colors and doesn't seem to struggle with that so she said its something to watch out for but they will test him again as he gets older.

I joined Easton at his school for their Dr. Seuss day. They tried green eggs and ham.
I went to check on the boys one night after bedtime and this is how I found them. Where's Waldo? Where's Spencer?
Ryan took the older boys to the pond. Easton needs practice stopping and Spencer was going to be goalie this week so he worked on that.
When Nolan gets up early in the morning he hangs out with Ryan in the bathroom while he gets ready. Ryan makes him a bed on the floor with towels.
The day Ryan and I both dread but Spencer couldn't wait for. It was finally his turn to be goalie!

He says he really likes being goalie but I think he would miss skating and scoring. I guess only time will tell.
It was a birthday weekend. Easton and Spencer went to Sam's birthday at the science museum. They got to pretend they were scientist and make bouncy balls, goo and other things.
On Sunday we had Easton's party. He wanted a Badger football party.
Today we celebrated this cute, strong willed, keep us on our toes soon to be 5 year old!
We started the party with playing in the snow. He wanted to have a sledding party and we have the perfect hill for it. Only the temps got warmer this week and our snow was disappearing. It also was becoming more icy!

Poor Olivia. 5 minutes into our sledding party she slid down to fast and got knocked off of her tube. She ended up needing 3 stitches but was such a trooper she made it back in time for the rest of the party.
Tomorrow is Easton's day. He will get to pick our activity and where we eat dinner. I can't wait to spend the day with him!
Since I've decided for now to keep the blog going I'm now 18 days behind. We've been busy but we are also back to our normal winter routine. So let's get caught up with a lot of pictures! These are in complete random order!
We had Finley over for a sleepover. The boys had hockey so he got to watch them skate. He told me he didn't think hockey was for him!
See I could totally do 4 boys….
They all wanted to sleep in the living room. I tucked them in Finley told me he didn't need me to rub his back or cuddle him. So I snuck part way up the stairs and watched to see what they would do once I was gone. All of their heads popped up and they were excited they had been left alone for the night in the living room. Needless to say it didn't last long and I made them all go upstairs to their rooms.
Easton didn't want to sleep in his bed he preferred the doorway.
Finley and Spencer laughed and talked for about 20 minutes. Finally the room was quiet and both boys were asleep. I did move Finley after I took this picture.
Finley joined the boys at the art class. They made New Year's Eve crafts.
We spent our New Year's Eve at Auntie's for a kid friendly party. We went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house in time to watch the ball drop. They all made it till midnight (in New York).
Only 2 minutes after the ball dropped this is what they looked like! Staying up late is rough!
I decided to start the new year with a new look. I ended up cutting 10 inches off. It's always an adjustment for me when I cut my hair off. I have times when I think "why did I do that?" I was finding that I was ALWAYS wearing my hair up in a pony tail and I would go a day or so without washing it. So why not try something new.
We attended our old neighbors annual ugly Christmas sweater party.

Ryan used to dry the boy's equipment out on the office floor. Then he started laying it out in the basement bedroom. I wanted to have some lockers made for their stuff and Ryan came up with a great idea! He made them lockers for all their equipment….

The boys had their weekly sports class. Spencer was off of school for a cold day so he got to participate also.
Ryan took the boys to a River Falls hockey game.
A guy gave Nolan $5.00 to buy a himself a treat at the game.
Spencer and Easton continue to have hockey practice. Easton's only down fall is stopping. He hasn't quite mastered that yet!
The life of owning a business. Sometimes you are forced to hang out in the office while dad has to work.
For Christmas Easton have me nail polish. The boys were excited to watch me paint my toes. I'm not sure blue is my color but it made Easton excited to see it on my toes.
Ryan and I enjoyed a nice dinner after the holidays were all over. We had the best seat in the house!
One of their favorite games to play is Spot It.
Easton has been setting traps in his room to catch the wild animals that are roaming around our house.
Apparently the night stand is more comfortable.
While Spencer was off of school we visited Ryan at work and had lunch.
We also tried out the Y swimming pool when the slide was open. Poor Easton he's not tall enough for the slide and he's not a strong enough swimmer yet to earn the pink wrist band. He was forced to stay in the shallow end. Thinking I might need to sign them up for swim lessons again.
Easton makes me smile when I see him sitting like this in the car. Oh and don't worry my car was parked in the driveway when I took this.
Santa brought the boys kits for digging out gems.
It was a little bit harder then I thought it was going to be. Nolan pretty much gave up and my arm hurt after I worked to help find the little plastic stones.
This is one of Nolan's favorite books to read. Ryan asked him who was on the cover. He said a Witch, Toilet paper guy and didn't know who the other one was.

I just can't believe Easton will be in Kindergarten next year. This makes me sort of excited. I'm sure once goes I will have days when I miss him being home. But I'm really looking forward to spending some one on one time with Nolan. Also Easton as we all know can be a bit of challenge at home but at school he seems to do really well. Lets just hope school is ready for him.
I took Spencer to the family movie night at his school.
All 3 boys have been a little addicted to their iPads. They love watching netflix and here they are all watching the Barbie cartoons. I've really been putting a limit to how much time they spend on them.
This was Nolan's hiding spot for his money. The boys are obsessed with getting gum balls at the rink. Ryan and I have refused to give them quarters all the time so they usually bring them from their piggy banks. Needless to say they are sloppy when getting their money out and I've been finding dimes, nickels and pennies everywhere. I finally told them if I find them I get to keep them.
Ryan took the boys to open gym. Why must they dress up for all activities. If they go to the gym they look like this. If they go to the pond they have to be in full hockey gear. It's annoying!
It's been cold this past week. Thankfully it hit 40 degrees today and I saw people out in shorts and t-shirts! That's just crazy.
I've always sort of needed glasses. I had them when I was younger and I've been able to get by without them up until the past few months. I've been getting a lot of tension headaches. So I had my eyes checked again to make sure they were getting worse. Well they're not worse but due to the fact that I'm having more symptoms she's suggesting I start wearing them more often.
I've challenged myself to play more with the boys. To turn off my cell phone, the tv and iPads and just play especially on days when I'm home with the boys. I find myself trying to get things done and asking them to entertain themselves but I know once they are all in school I will miss our days home together.
I'm no longer allowed to cut Spencer's finger nails. Apparently I cut them too short and he had to wear gloves to bed one night.
Our new TV arrived for the basement and we hooked up the Wii downstairs. The boys are excited.
I'm sure most of you have heard about Target closing their stores in Canada. What you might not know is 50% of Ryan's job is to cover the Canada stores. This was a shock to him and he actually found out when I sent him this screen shot from a post I saw. Things are still up in the air and we should hopefully know more this week regarding his job and what changes will be happening.
Nolan celebrated his 1/2 birthday with his friends at school. He got to bring in a treat, they sang happy birthday and I came in to read Nolan's favorite book.
He's been obsessed with carrying around these 4 hockey books lately.
On Friday a few of our neighbors are home with their kids so we invited them over to play to help break up the morning a little.
Spencer wanted to take his snowboard to the bigger hill by our house.
I also had a date night with Spencer after school this week. On Friday when he got off the bus I told him we were going skiing. He was so excited. To save on time we just went to Afton Alps. He's begging to go back there and when you watch the videos you will know why.
I am so proud of our little skiier! He does awesome and has no fear! He was so excited to ski with the big kids in the trick park.
Only I can tell I'm getting old. I needed to ice my knee and back after a evening on the hills with him.
Spencer got a new sticker for his helmet.
Ryan was able to get tickets for the Packer play off game. Too bad they won't be going to the Super Bowl after today's debacle.
Today was Easton's day for the ski hill. I signed him up for a lesson as he still needs some help learning to to control his skis. After that he was ready for the big hills… kind of. He stumbled with the chair lift and after we had a little talk about the correct way to get off the chair lift he decided he was done with those for the day. Then when he fell at the bottom of the hill and I sort of laughed he was done skiing for the day. I did get these videos of him.
This video made me nervous for Easton and anyone in his path! I sent him up the hill by himself and made him come down alone. Time to build his confidence a little!
