This may
be my longest post ever! Be prepared for picture overload!
We watched the weather religiously leading up to the week of our trip. We kept seeing a lot of rain and we were bummed before we even left. I'm happy to report the weather was perfect. We had one day that it rained a little bit but other then that it was sunny and warm.
Spencer has a "Staying Healthy" Calendar from school that we work on. Here they are doing 20 squats. It's funny to watch them do their little work outs. I think its a fun idea.
A neighbor friend of mine did a run swap one day when it was nice out. Easton, Nolan and I went to their house to play. I watched the kids while she ran and she stayed with them while I ran. It's nice to have friends who will do that. We look forward to doing that more this summer.
Easton asked me to cuddle him like when he was a baby. How could I say no to that cute face.
Even though I was stressed trying to finish up packing we took some time off to take the boys to a Wild hockey game. They had a blast.
Here are our little nuggets doing what they do best....being silly together.
Ryan had been promising Spencer he'd have lunch with him at school. So on the Friday before our trip they had McD's. That is what all the kids request when their parents come.
We told Easton on Friday night he just had to close his eyes for a few mins and we would be waking him up to go to the airport. I was surprised that worked. We had the boys up and getting ready for the airport at 3:30 am. The excitement of the trip took over and they were pumped.
When we got to the airport Spencer and Finley got early birthday presents. Mini I-pads. Perfect for entertainment on our trip.
I knew my friend Molly was being surprised by her husband on a trip to Cancun. What I didn't know was that they would be sitting by us. It was a fun trip down.
Look who was in charge of flying the plane.
In Mexico you don't need seat belts or car seats. You just do a lot of holding on tight and praying.
It was only a matter of minutes before the kids had their suits on and were swimming.
Our group on day 1 having lunch by the pool. This pretty much sums up our trip!
The boys were excited to check out the beach.
HA! I love this picture of Finley. Total wipe out!
My least favorite activity. Being barried in the sand.
I had been waiting ALL winter for this moment. Every day when it was -100 degrees I would think about how it wouldn't be long and I would be sitting on the beach with the sun beating down on me and finally I would feel warm again.
We had a pizza party in the villa and Nolan kept trying to sneak cheese. Though he wasn't very sneaky.
The night finished with a dance party.
You would often hear us say "Easton! Walk!"
But he LOVED jumping into the pool. He had no fear and by the end of the week they were attempting to swim without their life jackets. I love that they have no fear but after they both almost went under (Spencer thought he could swim further then he could and Easton I had to prove to him that he can't swim) they agreed it's easier to keep them on.
We got to see our favorite lifeguard Mario again!
The kids went to their welcome party...
We did attempt eating out a few times while we were gone...
The key is to pick places with lots of noise and entertainment.
Another great day on the beach...
He wrote his name in the sand.
Nolan loved playing with the chair clips. He was singing a song from daycare. He's so stinking cute!
Spencer worked on his swimming...
They often ate lunch while watching the pool volleyball players. Spencer even got the job of the line judge and would call the balls in or out. By the end of the week, the adults knew his name and would cheer when he would make the call!
They got their faces painted.
What a cute spiderman!
Grandma and Grandpa had a fiesta! With hats and mustaches.
Yep, I married him...
We did venture out one day to take the little boats around the lagoon.
Crazy wind blown hair...
Thumbs up!
They played lots of pool games....
The boys didn't really nap the whole week. Once in awhile they asked to come up to the room early with me and I would find them resting on the couch.
We celebrated St. Patricks day!
It's fun now that the boys are getting older and can really enjoy swimming and playing.
The tried boogie boarding.....
My parents offered to keep the littles in one night so we could have a nice dinner out. Simon (the youngest son of the family we were traveling with) decided he wanted to stay back also.
We enjoyed a great dinner with great food!
This is what we came home to....... Doesn't get much better then that!
See I don't always get good pictures with the boys! The boys dressed up to have their pictures taken one night so we headed out for dinner again.
This mall has crazy artist and you can tip them and have your picture taken with them. Everyone needs to make a living some how.
There was a magician at the restaurant. Spencer LOVES that kind of stuff, he gets that from Ryan
He was giving us a thumbs up for balancing a spoon on his head.
Spencer turned 6 while we were in Mexico. I brought along a few things for the room and a small gift for him to open.
Ryan agreed to letting him pick out new soccer shoes since he outgrew his and passed them onto Finley. Finley asked Spencer if he would clean off the grass from these shoes when he passes these ones on.
Spencer took a few pictures while we were on the trip also. Here's what vacation looks like to him....
Easton was busted brushing his teeth with only a pair of shoes on!
Nolan saw waitresses balancing drinks on their heads the night before so he tried also!
The Twite family traveled with us this year to Cancun. They are the only family that is crazy enough to take on our 11 while on vacation. Their boys Simon and Peter are great with our kids. We had so much fun with them and look forward to next year!
On the last day they did a Pirate Treasure Hunt!
Those are some tough looking pirates!
Looking for their coins....
Digging for gold...
They cooled off with more pool games.
Mario found a small crab for the kids to look at...
We sure do have cute twins. Or at least that's what everyone thought walking by on the beach when they would see those 2 together.
They LOVED playing on the beach together and jumping the waves...
On our last dinner the band sang Happy Birthday to Spencer. He is beyond excited that he is 6 now.
It's always sad when we have to leave. We have so much fun spending time together as a family. We are lucky that we get to keep going back each year. We have my parents to thank for that. We love you mom and dad Thank You for a great trip once again!
The airport is always interesting...
They got to meet the pilot...
Vacations are tough!
The boy side of the plane.
Throughout the week there are professional photographers walking around taking pictures. Sometimes they also have animals with them. Our kids love this! Here are our professional pictures from the week!
(That sums up our vacation if you feel that you are still wanting MORE pictures you can always check out Heather's blog. She does a great job posting.)
Post vacation blues......
It really was back to reality. Easton and Nolan had dentist appointments this week!
Why not celebrate no cavities with a sugar drink?
We are really trying to do the whole potty training thing around here. He does GREAT at school. Only now I need to remember to carry back up pants with me. Sorry Nolan good thing we were headed home!
I was able to get out for a little fun this weekend. Friday night I had dinner with some friends/old co-workers.
We may have done a little house stalking at the end of the night and found out where a few of the MDs we work with live.
There are 6 people on our cul-de sac/neighborhood that have March birthdays. So we planned one big night out to celebrate all of them. I asked Heather and Patrick to come a long also since her birthday is in March. It was a great night with lots of fun friends.
Things have been coming a long with the store.....
A lot of work has been going on inside to get the store ready to begin receiving inventory in April
Spencer LOVES hanging out at the store and helping clean.
Again with the selfies...
We also had Spencer's birthday party this weekend. We had it downtown at our local theater. They started out with an art project and got a behind the scene tour of the building. The kids had a great time and each of them got to bring home their own "spy gear," what could be better then that?
Once again we had an AWESOME cake! She keeps getting more and more creative!
Going on the tour.....
Oh Easton we love you...... Even though you always have to make life interesting. See him running on the right side? Yep, he didn't want to be part of the group picture...
