5 months old!

Warning this post is going to be short and will have a lack of pictures. It wasn't until I was looking through my camera on Saturday that I realized I didn't take one picture during the week.

I will start out by sharing that Spencer is 80% in big boy underwear now. On Monday I put him in underwear and we've been doing okay ever since. He will still have an accident here and there but for the most part does really well. I say he's 80% because we still put him in a diaper for naps and bedtime. There have been a few days when he wants nothing to do with potty training. I don't know if I should just push through and have him still try and fight with him or give in and let him wear a pull up. He's still not always telling us when he has to go, it's more us asking and putting him on the potty so I go back and forth if we are going about this the right away or not. Are we potty training or are we just training him to go every hour? Either way we are making big steps in the potty training department.

I joined my 2nd family for the annual country festival on Friday. Despite the rain we had a blast and enjoyed some great music. While I was there Ryan stayed home to work on our landscaping and the boys stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma said it was busy but the boys were good and slept well. Spencer and Finley can go back and forth sometimes they get a long great and play really well other times they both want what the other has and will do anything to get it. I think we should just put them in a room alone with a bunch of toys and let them figure it out.

Poor Easton has to watch everyone else eat pizza......

Spencer, Easton and I all hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's on Saturday. We watched Grandma Lynn's nephew play for Team USA in the World Cup game and had a great grill out. Even though Team USA didn't win it was still fun to watch. Afterwards we took the boys for a boat ride before heading home.

Easton turned 5 months on Saturday! He continues to grow and change each and every day. One night this week I couldn't put him down after he fell asleep eating. It just hit me how big he is getting and how he won't be my little boy much longer. He's rolling over more and cooing/laughing a lot. He's a very happy and content baby. His sleeping seems to be hit and miss this week. A few nights he did really well and then the others he woke up once just needing his nuk. The teachers told me he was the best baby this week he is only 1 of 3 boys right now in his room. He is still getting cereal at night before his night time bottle. He loves to sit in the bumbo and play in his excersaucer.

Toy Story 3!

This was a very busy week for us with lots of fun things planned. I have decided sometimes it's easier to handle the boys if we try and get out of the house. So, on Monday the three of us went to EC for a playdate. We were going to go to the park if the weather was decent but as most of you know it seems like it has been cloudy and raining forever around here. So instead we went to Auntie's house along with my cousin Randi Jo and her two boys Nixion and Joey. My high school friend Laurie also came over with her little girl Lilly. Easton even showed all of us that he still remembers how to roll over. I was getting a little nervous that he forgot how. Thanks Auntie for having us all over. After the kids played we thought it would be a good idea to take them all for pizza. This was not our best idea! The parents were out numbered by hungry toddlers. It seemed just as one of us sat down to start eating our pizza someone needed something! All in all it was a great play date and we enjoyed spending the day with everyone.

I also took Spencer to the girl that usually does my hair to get a hair cut. I've decided for the summer to keep it short. He has very thick hair just like me and it grows fast! He always looks so old whenever I get his hair cut. He sure is getting big!

We took Spencer to see his first movie in the theater on Tuesday. Ryan got tickets through work for a prescreening of Toy Story 3! Spencer brought both his stuffed Woody doll and a his Buzz Light year toy. I made sure to pack him a dinner before we left knowing we wouldn't have time to stop. So while we munched on popcorn before the movie started he was eating a turkey sandwich. I asked Spencer if he had to go potty before the movie or if we should change him. He told me yes he did have to go potty. So for the firsts time ever Spencer went potty in a public place. All I have to say is "yuck!" Trying to keep him from touching EVERYTHING was a challenge and I scrubed his hands before we went back! The only bad thing about the movie is that it's in 3D. When the movie started we put Spencer's glasses on and he went "WOW" and took them off right away. The movie was still ok to watch without the glasses on only some parts got a little blury. He did great during the movie. After about an hour he got kind of restless so him and I walked out and I let him run around for about 10 minutes before going back in. After that he got pretty tired and just wanted to cuddle on my lap. He was pretty cute though during the movie getting excited at parts and laughing at others. The boys and I ventured back to EC on Wednesday. There was a music class in the morning. We went with Auntie who quickly switched boys with me as Finley had been giving her a rough morning and sometimes can act better for his Auntie since he is Auntie's boy! After the music class we met Grandma for lunch then went back to her house for nap time. While spencer napped Easton and I got his pool ready for when he got up. Finley came back over to play before we headed home.

On Friday Grandma picked the boys up from school. Ryan's co-workers had planned his promotion happy hour for that night so the boys were going to stay in EC. First they stopped at Grandpa's work for the tree planting. The employees at M&J wanted to dedicate a tree in Great Grandma Market's honor. Both Ryan and I really wished we could have been there for that. I miss grandma a lot and think about her often. It was her birthday this week also. From the pictures that Auntie and my mom took it looks like Spencer was a big help with planting the tree. That evening Grandma and Grandpa's friends came over and they all went for a boat ride. Spencer is convinced that Nemo lives in the lake at their house. He is always asking if we can go fishing for Nemo or he claims to see Nemo in the water. I'm not sure if Spencer has ever watched the movie finding Nemo so I kept wondering where he learned about Nemo. I mentioned something to one of his teacher's and she told me that there are 3 kids in his class who are crazy about the movie Finding Nemo and all the kids talk about Nemo.

Even at Grandma's he takes weird things to bed, like her duster.

Truly anything goes at Grandma's and Grandpa's cause this would never happen at our house!

Spencer and Easton joined the ladies for coffee on Satuday morning. Afterwards Grandma and Grandpa took the boys to the canine carnival. Grandma volinteers a lot for Bob's House (a shelter for dogs) and wanted to take the boys. She told me that Spencer had gotten up at about midnight and joined them in bed for the rest of the night so it sounded like he was pretty tired and crabby that morning. I think they had fun though walking around seeing all the different things.

Happy Father's Day! Spencer and Easton are so lucky to have Ryan for their dad. He is a great dad and I know he loves those boys more then anything. We spent most of the day hanging out and doing things around the house as a family. The boys and I gave Ryan his gift awhile back (tickets to the Twins game) but he also had his gifts to open from them that they made at school. Later we met my family for dinner. Happy Father's day to our dad's/grandpa's also!

As Spencer get's older and is talking more I want to remember the cute things he says. This week when we were in the car on our way to school one morning he says to me "no friends momma, shopping!" It has occured to me that Spencer is well aware of what "shopping" means. At Auntie's house he wanted a bag/purse to put all of his toys in and wanted to go shopping. If you ask him where he wants to go shopping he will say "Target" and if you ask him why he will tell you Target is red and they have cars and toys there. I also find myself telling him little white lies just to get through a situation. For example when we went to Grandma's and he was talking to me about wanting to go fishing for Nemo I told him the fish weren't out yet and that they were still sleeping. He even told Grandpa that the fish were sleeping. So I'm sure you are wondering how Easton has been sleeping since last week. I'm happy to report that things are getting better. On Monday Grandma offered to keep Easton for the night just so that I could try and get some sleep. Well Spencer decided to get up that night at 2:00 am and was up until 3:00 am and Easton slept all night for Grandma! The rest of the week Easton was back to sleeping his 10ish hours a night! On the days when they have school I have to wake him now. It's so nice to have him sleeping again. Hopefully now Ryan and I can get caught up on some much needed sleep!

We are a little late in this but we wanted to say CONGRATS to Ryan's sister Rachel and her husband Matt who welcomed baby Noah. He is a little peanut with a full head of hair already. I'm sure Caden is making a great big brother. Congrats again and we can't wait to meet him!
