Easton is 3! I can honestly say it seems like Easton should be older. It feels like he's always been apart of our family. Maybe it's because I don't remember really what it was like before him. Easton has totally changed our world. I know I say he's our wild child, stubborn and the one who will challenge us every step of the way, yet there is a side to Easton that just lights up the room with his big eyes and cute little smile. He can be so shy and a cuddler. Don't get me wrong, those other things are true, I just wouldn't change him for anything. I guess maybe I like to think he's a bit like his mom and maybe someday will grow up challenging the world and make great changes. At least that's what the books tell me about strong willed kids! They will be the future leaders of the world!
So lets take a look back over the last 3 years....
I left this ultrasound positive I had a little boy growing inside of me even though we didn't find out. Yes, that is a VHS tape Ryan is holding of the ultrasound!
One of the last pictures I have of me pregnant.
On January 26, 2010 we welcomed Easton Ryan into this world.
Happy 1st Birthday!
My big 2 year old!
Last year after he cut his head during the Super Bowl!
So a little bit about our 3 year old.
Food:
Loves nutrigrain bars, yogurt, grapes, bananas, cereal and MILK! If you ever ask him what he wants, it doesn't matter what time of day, he will tell you Mac & Cheese even though he never eats very much of it. I should also mention his love of sweets and gum. We've learned at times you don't clear his plate from the table, he's been known to come back looking for it 20 minutes later.
Toys: He likes cars, action figures and baseball. The only time he will really sit still is for a cartoon. His favorites are Toy Story, Shark Boy and Lava Girl, Little Einstiens and pretty much whatever Spencer doesn't want to watch.
Fun Facts: When he's around strangers he's really shy and wants to be held. He has 2 girlfriends at school that happen to be twins and he refers to call them by their last name. He is by far our hardest kid to put to bed and comes out of his room wanting everything and anything. He loves to change his outfit at least 2 times a day if not more and as soon as he gets up in the morning he wants to get dressed.
His actual birthday was kind of a crazy busy day. So we took him out for dinner the night before. I asked him where he wanted to go and after some thought he told me Applebees. I knew exactly why he picked there. He wanted them to sing to him. Only when they finally came out he hid in my chest and wouldn't look at them.
Uncle JB came over with gifts on Saturday, his actual birthday:
No wonder why they love their Uncle so much... he's just one of boys.
Originally I had a sitter lined up to watch the boys Saturday night while Ryan and I snuck away for my company wide holiday party. Sadly our sitter came down with the flu. Thankfully though Auntie agreed to take on the boys. My plan then was to surprise Grandma and Grandpa who were flying in that night with a sleepover with the boys and hoped they didn't mind the extra company. It all worked out and I'm thankful my family was there to help. Auntie made her special boy birthday brownies and they all sang happy birthday. I also got a detailed report about how wild having 5 kids 4 and under can be. Thanks for making his night special.
Sunday we celebrated his birthday with friends at the giggle factory. It was Toy Story themed and he had a blast. We had the place to ourselves and the kids went crazy. Thanks to everyone that came and made his day so special! He's one lucky little boy!
We also opened presents at home.
It killed Spencer to watch Easton, but Spencer did a good job and let Easton open his gifts.
He's ready for the beach in Mexico come March!
There's no doubt about it, we love our little Easton!
Here are a few other random pictures from the week:
According to these two, baseball gloves are the same as winter gloves.
Dinner at their little table went better this week.
Even boys like to play with wooden cut out dolls.
TROUBLE! Watch out!
This is what happens when you get the boot....
At my work party
Can you believe between the two of us we've lost an adult. 155 pounds!
We visited Ryan at work.
Easton likes watching Spencer play hockey.
The love of the game.....
This is Nolan's classroom. He's 2nd on the left. This picture is super cute!
Ryan's side job has officially started. People were excited at the rink today to see that finally there would be a local place to come get their skates sharpened. He's going to be at the rink a couple of times a week, for a few hours each.
