Nolan and Jake
Spencer had his 4 year old check up. Spencer checked out great and thankfully there were no shots at this appointment. He told her all about his birthday parties and the things he's up to these days. She was impressed with how he can ride his bike now without training wheels. We determined that Spencer excels in his gross motor skills but the fine motor skills are where he needs some work. I've noticed some of his friends writing their names on things and Spencer can write most of his letters they are just all over the page. While we were there she looked in Easton's ear and it's still infected. We will be bringing him back to the ENT doctore next week. Since both boys did such a good job we went out to lunch. It's easier with just the two of them!
Grandma was watching Nolan and joined us after lunch so we could switch kids so I could go Easter shopping. Since Nolan doesn't understand, he got to come along with mom! This is his first time sitting in a cart! He's becoming such a big boy! Since he can sit in a high chair and cart we decided it's time to ditch the infant car seat. Just one more sign my baby is growing up before my eyes!
Spencer makes the best older brother!
Grandpa John came in from Texas to help celebrate Spencer's birthday. The boys have so much fun when he comes to visit. They love playing all kinds of sports with him. He even babysat for us on Friday night so Ryan and I could go out to dinner for my birthday.
We got our eggs ready for the Easter bunny. Coloring is not easy with a 2 year old! We had dye everywhere. Thankfully we only did 6 eggs.
Grandma Julie sent an Easter package.
They boys helped me celebrate my birthday with cupcakes. I'm a very lucky mom!
Spencer wanted to wear his shirt just like Uncle JB.
We finally had Spencer's last birthday party. He seriously thinks he's 7. He thought that every time he had a birthday he got older. This party was for his friends from school and a few neighbors. We had it at the Y and it was the best idea ever. The kids ran around in the gym and wore off their energy and they had a room where we could have snacks and cake. Spencer had so much fun! Thank you to everyone that came.
It was a monster themed party.
Time to go to the gym.
Uncle JB brought Spencer's gift to the house.
Spencer had asked for a hockey card with Uncle JB's picture. So the great uncle he is, he made him one.
Maybe Spencer will be our Rock Star!
Ryan, Uncle JB and Grandpa took on the 3 little boys so I could have a girls night. They started by putting Spencer's new basketball hoop together.
While the boys were busy my friends took me out for my birthday. First we got pedicures....
Followed by dinner and then a movie! Thanks girls for a great night!
Sunday morning the boys woke up to their Easter baskets. Grandpa brought special eggs with him from Texas that had dollar bills in them! Spencer yelled out "Look mom a dollit!" What he meant was a dollar. They had fun looking for eggs around the house. Easton wanted to stop and eat the candy before finding the next.
We went to Grandpa and Grandma's house to have Easter lunch with everyone and look for more eggs. Seriously, getting a decent picture of the boys together is a challenge!
Spencer is catching on to the way I dress him. He told me he was wearing his Easter outfit because he was cute! Later I heard him talking to Easton about how they were going to pretend to be dad's. Here's my conversation with Spencer.
Me: Why are you a dad?
Spencer: I'm dressed like one. So I have to go to work.
Me: What do you do at work?
Spencer: Play baseball
Me: Where do you work?
Spencer: Target
Me: Do you think that's what dad does?
Spencer: Yup and he plays basketball because he has a hoop in his office.
But getting the 5 of them is almost impossible!
It was time for the indoor egg hunt!
After the hunting we put on comfy clothes and had lunch before we went outside for another Easter egg hunt! That grandma sure knows how to go out of her way to make her 5 littles feel special!
Spencer pretending he's a pizza deliver guy.
After the hunts Easton put on his new skates!
Nolan worked on getting ready to crawl. I actually saw him crawl backwards.
Spencer's words were "I love this stuff!" My words after he put it in his hair..."This stuff is going in the garbage!"
What a difference a few months makes. Nolan was 2 months in this picture.
Here they are now!
Here's two videos of Spencer and Easton....
