Adjusting....

Our 3 little boys! It's impossible to get a decent picture from them these days.

Spencer always wants to know where Nolan is and if he can help with something. He loves giving him kisses and checking on him. He is one proud big brother.

Everyone wants to know what life is like with 3 kids. It's busy, but it's not really Nolan keeping us busy as it's still the other two boys. Nolan is just making us extra sleepy with getting up in the night. The older boys are still going to daycare. At the start of the month I decided to sign them up for 4 days a week instead of 3. It was a hard decision because I like having them home with me but with the move and adjusting to Nolan for a few months I thought it would be easier on everyone for them to have more structure through these big changes.

Playing in water is always a great way to entertain and burn off energy. Spencer fell asleep after we were done before we could even get his clothes on him.

We had Spencer's conference this week at school. He got all great remarks and the only areas they said he needs to work on is cutting with scissors and pumping himself on the swing. Oh, and washing his hands after he goes potty. He still think that's if he doesn't touch anything that he doesn't have to wash his hands. The teachers seem to think he is adjusting well to his new surroundings (he's in a new classroom) and all the big life changes at home. He's had a few days of difficulty listening and one day where he seemed more emotional but all of his close friends were gone that day. Overall though he's doing great!

While Spencer was at soccer Easton, Nolan and I hung out at home. It's been WAY to hot out to be outside if you don't have to be. Since Nolan basically sleeps all of the time, it was nice to spend some time with just Easton. He may keep us on our toes but he sure is cute! He's actually gotten a lot better in the past few weeks with listening and helping out. He's still our wild one but becoming more managable. It seems that the friends I've talked to will agree that it's their 2nd one that can be their little trouble maker. Grandpa Dan sure likes it that he can now say Grandpa and he still won't say mommy or Grandma. He's a little stinker!

Nolan has had a very busy first few days at home. On Monday we went to the clinic for his weight check. He was 7 pounds 10 ounces so things looked great. In true Nolan style he was pooped when she checked him over and then peeped all over. He checked out great! I did joke with her that she would be seeing me more often because I refuse to bring all 3 kids to the clinic at once and that I would be back next week with another child.

Spencer wanted Nolan to pick him up from school. Once we got there he was too busy with his magnet tiles that he didn't seem to care. Eason enjoyed showing off his new brother though.

Spencer came out of the bathroom with shorts rolled and underwear sticking out. I told his teachers you lose all dressing battles in the morning when you only get a few hours of sleep!

Nolan got his first bath at home and Spencer was right there to help. He is such a good big brother and will often say "I want to do it because I'm the big brother."

So, how is Nolan sleeping? Well he's not our best sleeper. He eats every 2 hours on the dot during the day and most nights. We had a couple of nights when he ate at 9:30 pm, 2:00 am and again at 5:00 am. He's averaging 2 diapers during a diaper change. Just when you think he is clean and dry he poops again! During the night we can go through a few outfit changes from him peeing. You have to be quick and ready when changing him. He eats roughly 2-3 ounces per feeding. During the night he will only eat 1 and then try to pass out on us so we have to wake him up to get him to finish.

Overall Nolan is a great baby. Besides having his days and nights mixed up a little, we are adjusting well. You hardly hear a peep out of him until he starts to stir when he's hungry.

Friday I must have been feeling pretty motivated as I attempted taking all 3 boys to the park. Ryan has been working in the garage to get things packed up and moved. First Spencer was upset because he didn't want to go to that park. Then another mom and her son showed up with a soccer ball and asked my boys if they wanted to play. It was very nice but they gave the ball to Easton and he can have a hard time sharing. He did ok at first but then didn't want to let go. I told the mom "sorry he's my non-sharing child." She understood and told the boy they should put the ball away for awhile. It's nice when other moms are so understanding! So there was Easton crying on one side of the park because he wanted the ball and Spencer was crying on the other because he wanted Easton to roll down the hill with him. We didn't last long after that and it was an early nap day for Easton.

Our second attempt at taking all 3 boys out was to have dinner with all of the grandparents. At first things were fine. Ryan took the boys out to play on the putting green while we got the table and ordered dinner. While we waited for the food the boys did great sharing a new coloring toy from Grandma but then the food took a little bit longer and we started losing them.  Ryan and I ate fast and the boys started getting stir crazy and Spencer wanted to walk around and got a little wound up. It wasn't long and Ryan and I looked at each other and said it's time to go! It only took Spencer 5 minutes to fall asleep in the car. Easton on the other hand talked and sang the whole way home.

We also had Nolan's newborn pictures taken this week. Here is one that she posted for us to see. I can't wait to see the rest.

House Update

Most moms can't wait to get a nursery ready for when they bring the new baby home. This is Nolan's closet. He gets two rubbermaide totes in the living room.

We are able to move stuff into the garage of the new house. So Spencer was helping pack up the trailor.

We had one of 2 final walk throughs this week. This one was to look over the house and see if there was anything missing or changes that need to be made. We also had to look for any touch ups that needed to be done. Besides a few minor things everything looked great. We do the final walk through and close on our house this week Wednesday.
