Quick Update!

Spencer is stitches free! We got them out on Friday and his chin looks great! He was pretty upset getting them out but did WAY better then I thought. He's such a trooper! He never picked at his stitches once.



Pregnancy is getting the best of me today. My patience are thin and I'm uncomfortable. Or it could be the weather. Ryan and I find that entertaining the boys inside is getting old and we would rather be outside playing. Therefore I'm putting no effort into this update!

The boys got another Easter package in the mail from Grandma Julie and Grandpa John. They sure are lucky and should be on a sugar high for the next year.

The weather has been awful this week. It's rained and snowed most of the week. Luckily the two days I had off the sun was shining and it was pretty decent outside. We went to a park on Friday and I am getting to the point of being able to watch Spencer from a distance and not have to worry about him falling and now I find myself following Easton all over. I can't wait for both of them to be a little more independent.

This week we had conferences at school for both boys. Here's how both of them ranked.

Spencer:
He scored a 1 (meaning he always does it) on:
     *Crawls between, under and around objects.
     *Pastes bits of paper together
     *Combines sentences with the words "and, or, but"
     *Identifies 3 or more colors correctly
     *Understands concepts - size, number and shape
     *Counts 4 or more objects when asked "How many?"
     *Recalls details of a story
     *Uses bathroom independently
     *Washes hands without help
     *Says first and last name
     *Plays with at least one other child
     *Competes in games like tag, hide and seek (our child is very competitive!)
     *Plays cooperatively with minimum conflict and supervision
     *Recognizes feelings of others and verbalizes own feelings.

He has a few areas where he scored a 2 (usually) or 3 (sometimes)
     *Hops on 1 foot repeatedly without support or stands on one foot for 5-10 seconds
     *Swings on a swing, pumping by self
     *Draws or copies a complete circle
     *Cuts across paper.

Here's how Easton made out!
He scored 1's in:
     *Walks without help
     *Stacks 2 or more blocks
     *Throws a ball while standing
     *Scribbles with a crayon
     *Turns pages of books one at a time
     *Lifts cup to mouth
     *Wants stuffed animal or blanket in bed (He LOVES his blanket)
     *Gives hugs and kisses

Areas where he scored a 2, 3, 4(occasionally) or 5 (never)
     *Kicks ball (Ryan will probably be working with him on this one!)
     *Language: In general Easton isn't saying or signing much. He only has about 3-5 words that he will occasionally use and we don't see him sign very often. I'm hoping in the next few weeks that will change. Even his teachers wrote in the comments area that he recently started showing interest in signing and that he will use his signs when he really wants something.
     *Insists on doing things by himself
     *Helps with simple tasks
(Some of the things he is scored on is for a 1-2 year old evaluation. I guess I will start to worry if by the age of 2 he still isn't doing some of these things).

This weekend we went to Bill's 80th birthday party! Carol and Bill are my godparents. We were very excited we were able to share in this special day with him. Happy Birthday Bill!

We hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's for a little bit before heading home. The boys haven't all played together in awhile and I think they missed each other. All 3 of them look a bath together and then it was time to load up and head home. They must have had fun because both boys slept past 9:00 am this morning and that never happens in this house!

House Update!

Things are really moving along. It seems like each day we are seeing major changes. First it was we had 4 walls, then a second floor and finally they started on the roof. We know this part of construction is always fun because you can see the big changes.

They gave us an estimated move in date of August 12th. This makes me excited and even more overwhelmed all at the same time!
Ryan, Zoey and the boys have enjoyed taking many walks in the evening to the new house. Spencer has already taken advantage of the baseball, soccer fields and basketball court. Even Uncle JB stopped by one night to play with him.

Baby Update!

Not a lot to report this week. I've been noticing more and more "practice" contractions. As if I don't know what real labor feels like. I'm also feeling very big these days (my manager saw me one day and the next couldn't believe how much bigger I looked). I also find myself getting worn out quickly. I'm running out of space on my lap for the boys to sit and when they do try and sit on my lap I become very uncomfortable fast.

I go in this week for my appointment. I will also be tested for gestational diabetes. It's hard to believe I'm 28 weeks already and after this appointment I will start going in every 2 weeks.
