It might be time to lower his mattress down.
Spencer and Easton got a package in the mail from Grandma Nancy last weekend. Spencer LOVES to get presents in the mail. You could send him a rock and I'm pretty sure he would think it's the best thing ever. It's fun to watch him get so excited. Luckily for him Easton is still too little to open his stuff so he gets to do it for him. Thanks Grandma Nancy for sending presents.
Grandma and Grandpa finally returned from Europe! We missed them so much. The boys missed going to Grandma's to play and I missed being able to call my mom when ever I had a question or needed something. It sounds like they had a great trip while they were gone and we even skyped with them a few times. Poor Grandpa got sick though on the flight home and went straight to the hospital when they landed. His doctors say he had a really bad infection but that he should get better on his own. He seems to be doing much better already and was able to go home on Saturday. I had Wednesday and Thursday off this week so we spent those day's hanging out at their house. I took the boys up to visit Grandpa a few times but he was pretty sleepy and Spencer wasn't to sure what to think of him laying in that bed. We hope you get better soon Grandpa! We love you both very much and are glad you are finally home.
While we were visiting in Eau Claire I met my friend Sara with her daughter Olivia at the Sports Center. Auntie and Finley came for the play date also. While the four kids explored we tried to keep up with them. It's hard to visit when all of your kids want to do different things.
Spencer thought he looked cute with Olivia's barrette in his hair.
Later we met Grandma for lunch. The boys quickly ate and then it was off to play some games. It was the best $2.00 in quarters I've ever spent. It kept them busy while we were able to eat. I've never seen a game of air hockey last so long since neither one of them could score!
While Ryan headed off to Madison for the Badger game, I joined Auntie and Finley at the pumpkin patch. We couldnt' have asked for a better day. There was hardly anyone there and it was warm out.
First the boys tried out the duck races. They put their ducks in the tubes and pumped the water. I think this was their favorite activity.
Next we fed the animals. First the boys tried throwing the food to the goats but eventually got enough courage to let them eat out of their hands. While I was helping Spencer I had forgotten about poor Easton and I didn't buckle him in and he fell right out of his stroller! Don't worry no bumps or bruises but I sure felt bad.
We took a train ride out to the corn field for some hay jumping and corn digging. Easton wanted to eat the corn while Spencer wanted to try swimming in it.
Can't take your eye off of him for a minute.
Spencer was trying to swim in the corn.
Spencer was watching them shoot pumpkins.
Easton wasn't a fan of the hay.
Spencer wanted to pick a baby pumpkin so bad. I finally let him pick one out before we left and I picked one out for Easton. When he saw Easton's he decided to put his orange pumpkin back and get one like Easton's.
Hockey season is just around the corner. Ryan likes to take Spencer to the games to watch. Last year we started to bring a step stool for Spencer to stand on so he could see over the boards. Uncle JB made special stickers for his step stool this year and brought them over this week.
Whenever the Packers play Ryan likes to get Spencer all dressed up in his Packer uniform. Unfortunately, I'm the one that has to take him out in public looking this way! Spencer HAD to wear this to the store with me.
Here are the latest things Spencer said to make us laugh:
"No! I need the green bowel so it matches my underwear."
Spencer was watching the Twins with us last night on our bed. I look over and he's putting his blanket under his shirt I asked him what he was doing he replied with "I'm having my baby sister."
We told Spencer that Uncle JB was going to come over after nap time. He looked at us and said he was all done eating and that he needed to take a nap. He went right up stairs and into his room. It took him 20 minutes to actually fall asleep.
When getting ready in the morning Spencer will say to me "I want crazy hair" meaning he wants me to put gel in his hair.
Spencer had an accident while at the mall this week and I only had an old diaper his my bag so I told him he was going to have to wear a diaper like babies since he had an accident (probably not the best parenting at the time) and when we got home I found him in Easton's room taking diapers from his drawer and bringing them in his room. I asked him what he was doing and he said "I want to be a baby like Easton."
I think my favorite though has been how much Spencer will say "I love you momma" this week on his own without me saying it to him first.
Here's what Easton can do now! He's up on all 4's rocking back and forth and he can clap and has been saying dadadada!
