Spencer wanted to pick out his own shirt for daycare one day and this is what he came out wearing. Aunt Roz got him this shirt and he LOVES it because it has a basketball on it even if it is 3 sizes to big!

Monday was a busy day for Spencer. We started our morning with a visit to the dentist. They recommend kids start going to the dentist at the age of 1. I don't really see the point in that so we started at 2! It basically was a chance for Spencer to see what going to the dentist was all about. At first Spencer was trying to "flirt" with the dentist and keep her from seeing his teeth by covering them with his hands. Eventually she got a good look at his teeth...... unfortunately it was because he was crying! She told me that was ok though because they can get a good look when they are crying. She counted his teeth and I believe she said 28 with his two bottom molars just poking through. She also told me that it was good to see space between his teeth as that meant he would have room for his perminant teeth someday. The appointment lasted about 5 minutes. She told me we could come back in 6 months to a year and that at age 3 they will try and clean his teeth.

After a crazy busy lunch with both boys and Grandma it was off to the ENT Dr. to have Spencer's ear tubes checked. We practiced on the way for what the Dr. was going to do. We told him he was going to "peek" "peek" in both ears and he would be all done. So the whole way into the clinic Spencer kept repeating "peek, peek all done!" The Dr. told me that both tubes were out and sitting in his ear canals. I thought tubes would last longer then that but I guess that's not always the case. The good news we don't have to worry about him wearing ear plugs in the water this summer! The bad news...... we have to worry about more ear infections. I had the Dr. look at Spencer's tonsils because someone once told me he had large tonsils. His Dr. agreed but said we didn't need to worry about that now. We just have to watch to see if he develops a lot of strep, ear infections or if it effects his breathing. Let's hope we don't have to worry about having his tonsils out.

Easton has been a HORRIBLE sleeper this last week. Waking up and fussing just about every hour on the hour it seems. Both Easton and I have been batteling colds this week so I know that doesn't help. We have tried just about everything with Easton to see if anything will help in getting him to sleep longer. We've given him his bottle around 7:00 pm and he's fallen asleep and we put him down that way.... but it didn't work. The next night I woke him up after he fell asleep around 9:00 pm to feed him again thinking that would help but it didn't. So finally on Tuesday night I thought lets give him cereal. He actually did better then I thought he would eating it. It didn't help his sleeping, he was actually up more that night but it's just another sign that he's growing up so fast!

Easton still didn't improve much on his sleeping as the week went on. On Thursday I brought him to the clinic to see if I was missing something like an ear infection. That wasn't the case either. So the last few night's he's been getting a lesson in crying it out. It's hard to listen to but I know in the end it will make things much easier. We need some sleep around here! If any mom's have any suggestions I'm open to any advice.

The boys and I were home together on Thursday this week. When I was changing Spencer in the morning he told me he didn't want a diaper or a pull up on. So I said fine lets try big boy underwear. He was scared of them at first and ran away but I finally convinced him to them on. He thought it was great to be wearing Elmo underwear. That was until he started to pee and didn't tell me. I don't think he liked that he was wet and he said something right away so it was off to the bathroom we went. He finished going on the potty like a big boy and we put a new pair on. He wore them most of the day although he wasn't always great about telling us that he had to go. Finally towards the end of the day he asked for his pull up. He's gone a little backwards in his potty training lately. We put undwear on him again on Saturday and Ryan brought his potty chair downstairs while they were playing and while he was upstairs Spencer must have tried to go by himself because it was all over the potty chair. In some ways he could totally be potty trained and then he just looses all interest in it. Again if any mom's have tips I would be happy to hear them!

My mom also came up on Thrusday and took Spencer with her to run some errands so that Easton and I could get caught up on some sleep. When they got back here and I finally finished the window treatments for our patio door and then while I took Easton to the clinic her and Spencer got busy making dinner for us. I know I've said it before but I can't say it enough, I have a great mom!

Another first for both boys, they had their first real babysitter come to our house. It's a teacher from their school so I had all faith she could handle our busy boys. It was so nice to have someone that knew them and they knew her. I never worried about them once. I didn't even call to check on them..... ok, we texted a few times back and forth but from what it sounded like things went great. Both boys were good for her and it sounds like Spencer showed her all the sports he knows how to play. She also said both boys went to bed really easy for her. Spencer never tried to get out of his bed after they read books. So while the boys were in good hands with her, Ryan and I went to a wedding for one of his faternity brothers. We had a great night out and have decided we need to find time to do stuff like that more often.

Spencer was on his best behavior for Courtney. He even wanted to show her how he can wash dishes only he's never done that for us before. I'm glad both boys were good for her!

The boys and I want to congratulate Ryan on his new promotion at work! He has been in Toys for the last 2 plus years and he is excited for his new challenge with Target Financial Services and working in the GiftCard business. Ryan will be managing the GiftCard sales forecasting for the company as well as working closely with the marketing team on trend analysis, GiftCard development, in store signing and a variety of merchandising strategies. He officially starts on June 21 so next week will be his last week in Toys. Ryan says purchasing actual items are no longer allowed, even Toys. All gifts must be GiftCards!

ER Visit / 4 Month Check Up / Air Show!

We now have a new bath seat for Easton. The nice thing about his seat is that we can give him and Spencer a bath at the same time instead of filling up the infant tube all the time.

I tried to put Spencer down for a nap one day this week and I took his shoes off. He was pretty upset and wanted them back on but I told him no and that he needed to lay down. He cried for a bit but then it got quiet and when I went in to check on him he was sleeping on the floor cuddeling his shoes!

We finished out Memorial day weekend by spending time around our house and grilling out with the neighbors. We got out Spencer's pool from last year only to realize we were missing the plug to hold the air in. So I made a run to Target to get a new pool. Later Kyle and Kristin came over to grill out. Spencer LOVES cheeseburgers and is now a big fan of corn on the cob!

My mom came up on Tuesday to help me with some errands. We were in need of curtians for Spencer's room (I think maybe one of the reasons he was getting up so early. It can get pretty bright in his room). We also needed something for our patio door. Both boys were pretty crabby and we only had a limited amount of time. I'm happy to report that I found what I needed. So on Thursday, Grandma and Grandpa came up again to help hang everything. While my mom and I reorganized Spencer's room Grandpa got busy hanging everything. Grandpa HATES hanging stuff but is so good at it! THANK YOU to my parents for coming up to help us!

I took Easton in for his 4 months check up on Thursday. I was anxious to hear how much he weighed but I could do without the shots! Easton was 15 pounds 3oz (25%) 25 inches long (50%) and his head was in the 50%. It's strange to have him be in the 25-50% for things because Spencer was always in the 95% for everything. I'm ok with Easton staying little longer, they grow and change way to fast as is! We talked about all the things Easton is doing and what we can expect in the next couple of months. He's stopped rolling over from his belly to his back but he can get half way from his back to his belly and actually today I had put him on his side in his crib to sleep and when I went in his room because he was crying he had rolled onto his belly. So it will be a matter of time before he's doing both again. The Dr. thought Easton looked great and had good balance when sitting holding onto my fingers. We talked about starting cereal and she told me that we could anytime between now and 6 months if we wanted. I haven't decided yet when we will try it..... maybe this weekend just to see what he does. The last thing we talked about was how to get him back to his normal sleep pattern. He went from going 11 hour streches to 7-8 hours. I know it could be worse but what happened to my really good sleeper? Either way I was just happy to hear that we have a healthy baby.

Spencer had developed a cough ever since last Sunday. He never had any other symptoms besides a cough. I thought maybe it was a cold or allergies and just brushed it off. The cough got worse as the week went on and I called the clinic and they thought I should have his lungs listened to. They said not to worry unless it got worse or he developed a fever. Why is it that things always get worse in the middle of the night forcing you to go to the ER? The Dr. came in right away and said he was listening to Spencer cough out at the desk and he has croupe. We did a breathing treatment and gave him some oral medications and we were on our way home. The CNA in the ER kept telling Spencer if he was good he could have a freezy only she forgot to bring him one (probably because he was a pain when it came to giving him his treatments) but all the way home he kept asking for one. So there we were at midnight him and I having a bowl of sherbet!

This was what Spencer picked out to wear for pj's so this is what he wore to the ER also! Ryan says it's appropriate because the Blackhawks are going to win the Stanley Cup!

This weekend we joined my family in EC for the Air Show! I was excited for Spencer to see all of the big planes and he is ALWAYS pointing out the airplanes as they fly over in the sky. He was so excited when we got there and wanted to touch and get in all of the planes. They have some that kids can get into and check things out

Grandma and Grandpa got us tickets in the Chamber Chalet so we were able to sit up close. We got to see all the planes and they went by but I think Spencer’s favorite was the school bus that was jet powered! He kept asking for more school bus (his other favorite thing) and I was excited for Spencer to see the Blue Angels perform. We got him all ready with his headset on but as the Blue Angels were taking off his eyes started to go close. So Spencer and I sat in the back and while I enjoyed watching them fly by he enjoyed a nap! I can’t believe even with the headset on he was able to sleep right thought it. As soon as we got in the car though he woke up and asked where all the airplanes went! Thanks to Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Jim for watching Easton for us during the show. Grandpa Jim even got to change one of Easton’s poopy diapers! Maybe in a few years Easton will be ready to join us!
