Tomorrow is our last official day of summer with all 3 boys home. I can't believe I survived the summer. Well, if you ask Ryan he will tell you there were a few times when I hit the wall and had a total melt down because I was exhausted. I hope our kids had a great summer with lots of memories that will stay with them always. As with anything there are always highs and lows. My highs were how much easier it was to do things with the boys. They can all now get themselves buckled in the car, everyone can walk from one spot to another and they can even help carry things. They can be more independent when playing with friends or at parks, pools and just even outside. The lows…. well we won't think about those. There's always stress when you have young kids!
After an all school play date that at their school we joined other friends for lunch and some jumping at Skyzone! Nolan loves this place.
They talked us into letting them go in the hurricane simulator.
We quickly rushed off to Nolan's open house. He has mixed feelings about going back to preschool. He likes school but yet doesn't want to go. We are excited he will have Easton's old teacher Ms. Cindy, She was by far our favorite. He found where his locker was in the classroom.
All the kids got to draw on the mural.
They do chapel time at their school, and there is a Jesus doll that they use. The pastor asked the boys if they remember what you do with the Jesus doll. Right away Easton yells "hug him" so pastor Ben had him demonstrate. Easton then handed the doll to Nolan who took a big swing and punched the doll right in the face. Seriously Nolan!
My friend Amanda found this great scavenger hunt for the woods. We took it with us while we hiked our way to the falls. At first I thought the walk was going to take us forever. They stopped at every single thing. Eventually the scavenger hunt fun wore off and we made it to the water falls.
They were happy to play in the rocks and water. We also had lunch by the waterfalls.
Before school got out last year I joined a committee that helped redo the teachers lounge at the boys school.

Spencer and I had our traditional trip to Valley Fair. Next year I think Easton will be tall enough to join us.
He sure does like those spinning rides. Those I had to sit out.
He got to pick 3 arcade games.
He also wanted to have a character drawing done.
Towards the end of the night we ran into some friends. Spencer had fun going on rides with Gavin.
He finished the night off with The Wave.
Soaked to the bone it was time to head home.

Spencer and I met Ryan with the other boys at the elementary school for their open house/meet the teacher night.
We started off in Spencer's room. We had to put away his supplies. He has Mrs. Claycomb this year. Watch out 2nd Grade!
He found his hook for it coat and back pack.
Poor Easton. His allergies are BAD! He technically didn't have meet the teacher night as they go for an hour next week to spend time with the teacher before starting school. He still wanted to see his room though and find his hook.
We celebrated with dinner at Azul.

Later in the week we joined friends at a really fun but busy park. This was what the boys chose to wear.
I came back from the bathroom and found everyone playing Tenzi...

Our night ended with the annual movie in the park. This year was Babe. I could think of better movies to show. We got there early to make sure we had a good spot! Yes, our chairs are the first chairs in the entire park!
Some friends of ours had their annual end of the summer party. It was a men vs women pyramid type of night.
We came home to Easton standing up while sleeping….
While I took the older boys to the skate park Ryan took Nolan to a different park.

Nolan sure does love Josie.
Nolan is usually the only one up early enough to join dad for coffee on the weekends.
It's going to be a busy week of transitions. Spencer starts school on Tuesday, Nolan starts Wednesday (he will be going M,W, F this year) and Easton starts on Friday.
