The Park, Fire Truck and Silly Boys!

We'll start with some bath time fun!
Brotherly love.....

Easton laughing at Spencer

You can see his two teeth

Spencer LOVES seeing the "balloons in the sky" as he calls them!

Who knew playing under a crib could be so much fun!

Where's Easton?

there he is!

And Spencer!
We started our week with a visit to the park. I know winter is just around the corner and we will be stuck in the house day after day unable to go outside. I'm not even sure how you keep a 2 1/2 year old entertained each day. So far we are still trying to get outside even if we do have to bundle up.

This week at school the boys got to see a real fire truck. Spencer was so excited the night before and the only way we could get him to go to sleep was by telling him the sooner he went to bed the sooner he would get to see it. Of course Spencer had to wear all fire truck stuff to school that day.

Grandma picked the boys up from school on Friday so Ryan and I could join his co-workers for a happy hour. Even grandma admitted how busy the two of them can be. Spencer loves hanging out with Grandma and cries every time she leaves. She loves to spoil the two of them. Easton was sound asleep when we got home and Spencer was crossing over into the over tired world. So it was off to bed for him shortly after we got home. Thanks Grandma for spending the evening with them. Also, thanks for the great dinner you made for us!

We spent a pretty low key weekend around the house. We needed that after the busy weekends we've had this month. We hung the window decals that Grandma Nancy had sent and others I bought for Halloween.

We made rice crispy treats.....

Spencer and Easton got Halloween cards in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa with gift cards in them for our favorite store, Target. So Spencer and I had to run some errands and he picked out what he wanted to spend his gift card on. He picked a movie and finger paints for the tub. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

I was reading my friend Brook's blog and realized her twins who are a few weeks younger than Easton were eating way more table food then he was. I also looked back at our blog to see what Spencer was eating at this age and decided it was time to introduce him to a few more things besides bananas, puffs, yogurt melts and crackers. So this week he got to try pasta pick ups, Gerber meat sticks and peas. He's actually doing really well. He LOVES food and could do without his bottle. I feel like most days I have to force him to take a bottle. I guess I will be happy when it's time to take the bottle away but I feel like he needs more than he gets!

Here are two video clips from this week. The first one is of Spencer making Easton laugh. The other one is of Spencer acting like a monkey. Since I was taking video of Easton he also wanted to have a video taken of him.

Wedding Weekend!

Sorry for the late post! We were gone all weekend and I'm just getting around to it now.

So are you wondering if Spencer still brings crazy stuff to bed?! The answer is yes and no. Most nights it's the usual stuff like a few blankets, and a few stuffed animals. We also have to read at least two books before bed. There are the occasional nights though that he will ask for something odd like in the picture below. He wanted to wear both his golf shoes (as he calls them) and his jersey. I HATE when he wears something like that to bed because it automatically means there is going to be a battle in the morning. He will wake up and know that I took his shirt off and will insist that he needs to wear it to school. We've had a few rough mornings because of this.

Spencer called me into the living room to see the hill of toys that he made. He was so proud.
Easton is still working on his crawling. He can scoot backwards, roll everywhere and sit up from the laying position. He also continues to pull himself up on things. We have hit the phase where he doesn't want to be left alone in a room for very long. If I leave the room without him knowing it only takes a few minutes before he figures it out and starts fussing. Luckily I have a little helper that will keep him entertained for small amounts of time. Spencer loves to play and make funny faces at Easton. This also happens at bedtime if you lay him down awake. He will fuss and as soon as you walk back in the room he starts to giggle! I can't help but laugh.

Grandma came up on Thursday to get the boys. Before picking them up at daycare she stopped by with fall decorations and decorated the outside of our house. Spencer LOVES what she did and insists that we go look at the pumpkins everytime we leave or get home. Thanks Grandma for your help!

The boys stayed at Grandma's on Thursday so Ryan and I could clean and pack for the weekend and get out the door at a decent time on Friday. It also meant an hour less in the car for the boys. Easton got a sink bath while he was at Grandma's.

We headed to Milwaukee on Friday. Ryan's cousin got married on Saturday so we decided to go down the night before. We checked in and went straight to the pool. Ryan took both boys swimming. Spencer and Easton love the water.

We went out Friday night looking for a place to have dinner and at the same time both Ryan and I saw the sign for Chuck E Cheese. We thought why not and turned into the parking lot. Spencer loved playing all the different games and turned his tickets in for a sucker and a blue frog. The pizza didn't look too great so we ended up eating at Applebees before going back to the hotel.

Saturday the boys went to their first wedding. Spencer did okay in church but Easton was way too busy to sit still so I stood in the foyer and watched through the glass windows with him. Spencer had so much fun playing with his cousin Caden. Whatever Caden did Spencer was right behind him doing the same thing. They both sat great through dinner and then were super excited when they could finally hit the dance floor. By 9:30 pm Spencer was asking if he could lay in the stroller instead of Easton because he was so tired. That was our sign it was time to go.

Getting ready for the wedding. His first tie!

Here is a video of Spencer and Caden showing off their moves.

Sunday we stopped in Eau Claire on our way home. We had family pictures taken and had dinner at Grandma's. Both Spencer and Finley LOVED the treat grandma made. We couldn't keep their hands out of it!
