Spencer wanted to help to me in the kitchen. I guess that also meant he needed a headband just like me.
Now doesn't this look like a comfy way to sleep!
On Monday the boys and I went over to my friend Jill's house. Jill and I have been friends as far back as I can remember. She has a boy named Ben who is a little bit older then Spencer and a baby girl on the way. The boys did really well playing with each other. Spencer had a blast checking out someone elses toys. Later my mom came up for a visit.
Ryan left Wednesday night for the PGA Championship. Thursday morning I dropped the boys off at day care and headed to work. Auntie and Finley picked Spencer up in the morning for a play date and then took him back to EC with her so he could spend the night with Grandma. That night it was just Easton and I at home. I enjoyed my alone time with Easton and Grandma said she had fun spending some alone time with Spencer.
Friday morning while Spencer headed over to Auntie's for a play date with a lot of friends, I took Easton to his 6 month check up. It seemed like we had to wait forever to see the Dr. It was actually 45 mintues over my appointment time but with a 6 month old that seems to be forever. Easton started to get fussy in the waiting room while waiting for the Dr. I felt like all eyes were on me because I couldn't keep him content. What I wanted to tell the people who were eyeing me up was "if the Dr would be on time we wouldn't be having this issue right now!" I also felt the same way when we were on he plane home from Texas when Easton made two cry outs. I got a few looks from the people sitting around us like "oh great that baby is going to cry the whole time." Again, what I wanted to say was if we didn't sit on the runway for an extra hour he would have slept through the flight. But in those situations it always seems to be the mother's issue. I guess I have more understanding and sympathy when I see other moms in the same situations.
An update on his appointment. Easton seems to be our middle of the road child. He was 17 pounds (50%) 27 inches (60%) and 50% for his head. We talked about milestones and Easton is doing all the things a 6 month old should be doing. If I had to guess now what Easton's personality will be like when he gets older my guess would be that he will be very easy going. He's a very content baby and can just kind of go with the flow of things. Again she noticed he's got bumps where teeth are, but nothing poking through yet. We talked about him having a little bit of a cold right now and how he's been having a ton of blow outs. He's also been doing this thing over the last week or so when I feed him his first bite of cereal it seems like he chokes. It almost sits in the back of his throat and a few times I even got a little worried. After that first bite he does fine and will eat a ton! He had done it again for me the morning of his appointment when I gave him some tylenol. It's like it got to he back of this throat and he kind of choked on it and then threw up his whole bottle. She thought it might be related to his cold since it just started happening. She instructed us to keep an eye on it and if it continues to bring him back in. All in all it was a great appointment.
6 Months Old!
Love those little feet!
Grandma got to see first hand Spencer's love for golf.....
Easton had his first of many sink baths at grandma's.
Saturday we went to coffee and then headed downtown to Summerfest. Spencer went on his first pony ride. He loved being on the horse. We also visited the childern's muesum stand where the boys got to make fans and color with sidewalk chalk.
Saturday night was my 10 year class reunion. I still can't believe I've been out of high school for 10 years. A lot has changed. A few of my friends all got together before the reunion to catch up. It was fun to see some of the people that I haven't seen since we graduated. I must admit I didn't recognzie a lot of the people either. It's a good thing we wore name tags!
Thank you to both Grandma and Auntie for helping me out with the boys this weekend. I appreciate all that you do for us! We are enjoying the evening with my family in EC. Grandpa took us for a boat ride, it's a great way to end the weekend!
