Holiday Concerts, Parties and more...

Tis the season to have fun. It's also the time of year when I feel like we don't have an extra minute to spare. I try to remind myself though that when January comes things will slow down…..hopefully! We have been busy with school activities during the week and holiday parties on the weekend. Here is a quick look back over the last two weeks.

The kids love skating on the pond in the winter.

Ryan and his friend went to the Monday night football game. I think in Ryan's eyes it was magical because it started to snow during the game. I'm just thankful he has friends that will go with him for the cold games.

You can find us at the rink Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays.

I have found that with the colder temps I have become more of a hermit. I'd rather stay in and keep the boys busy then get us all bundled up to head out in the cold. This is forcing me to be more creative.

Spencer had late start and he wanted to go have a donut for breakfast at the grocery store. We sent this picture to Ryan.

While Ryan was traveling my mom came up to help me bring the boys to see Santa. We saw a new santa this year at the MOA. The kids loved him. Spencer asked for a drum, Easton wants a skate board and Nolan wants a Rudolph rocking horse.

Dad's back….. I will admit that the wrestling is not my favorite thing to watch.

Spencer got to sign the Rock Star log book at school for being a great helper for his teacher. This is a big honor at their school. There he is stinging the book with his friend Reagan.

A long time ago Grandma asked about taking the kids to see Disney on ice. Due to a conflict in her schedule Grandma couldn't go with us. We invited a neighbor girl to join us for the fun. Our seats were great and the boys are still talking about the show! 

They had to sneak touching the ice. But this is the closets they've come to touching the real ice that the Wild play on.

The boys found football eye black patches. They need some work when it comes to putting them on.

All of the boys had their Christmas concerts this week. Nolan's was first. He didn't do much singing, it was like he was lost looking into the lights up on stage but he's so cute! 

Next up was Easton. He sang along with his class and did a great job! 

Spencer sort of looks like a grubby boy in this picture but it also makes him look so old! 

Later in the week it was Spencer's turn. He was excited and has been practicing for awhile now. He also told us he had a part in one of the songs.

His ginger bread house that he made at school. 

I always love looking at the photo stream to find the interesting pictures the boys have taken. 

Chippy hasn't been very creative this year. Basically he's been moving from spot to spot but a few times he's come up with something good.

I saw this really cute picture on pinterest. It was of a ginger bread house made out of moving boxes. So I thought I would make an attempt. It was way harder to put together then I thought it would be but it was a lot of fun.

Here was my first attempt.

But the next morning the house was collapsed. All that hard work! 

So we took another shot at it and this time I think it turned out even better! It's also lasted more then a day. Nolan enjoys laying in there to watch movies.

Spencer and I spent a good 30 minutes in it one night cutting out snowflakes to decorate the inside.

Easton had a rough drop off one morning. Didn't want me to leave and was holding onto my leg crying. I quickly ripped him off and ran for the door. When I got to the car I felt like crying from the mom guilt of leaving my sad child. By the time I got to the store his teacher had sent me a photo of him working on his art project to show me he was happy and doing well.

We joined some friends on the ice. I will say the one annoying thing is my kids insist on being in full hockey gear to skate on the pond. Sometimes it takes longer to get ready then we have time to actually skate.

When we first moved to Hudson I would have given anything to go back to Eau Claire. Over the years though I have found some great friends and met some really nice people that I now consider my Hudson family. I enjoy this time of year as we take time out of our busy lives to celebrate our friendships.

Here's a little throw back for you. Who knew Ryan was so close to the new WI Badgers Football coach, Paul Chryst?! Maybe he can hook us up with some tickets. This was from a family wedding when Ryan was 10 years old.
