I really hope once school starts we will be back into more of a routine and I won't fall so far behind on the blog all the time…
Remember our caterpillers? Well they did everything they were supposed to and for a few days we had 3 butterflies flying around our habitat. Finally it was time to let them go….
We had national night out in our street with all of our neighbors…

Both Nolan and Spencer have had some rough days this summer. WARNING!
I was meeting a few friends at a park on a random day to play. Within the first 5 minutes of playing I heard Nolan screaming from the toys. When I got to him I could see the cut on his forehead. I knew right away it was off to the ER.
I was happy to hear at first that they would be able to glue it and not use stitches
I later found out that gluing head wounds is never a good idea. Sadly Nolan's head isn't healing the best and he's going to need a revision. Can't wait for that!
Grandma Nancy sent and gift card to get ice cream to help cheer him up.
Remember that extra tooth Spencer has. Well it needed to come out. So off to the Oral Surgeon we went. We were able to see a pretty in depth scan of his mouth. It was clear that he only had 1 extra tooth and it was upside down. The Dr did tell me that actually this is very common. We were able to schedule the surgery for the following week. I was thankful to get it out before school started.
At first things went great. Once their heavy pain meds started to wear off the tears started to roll. There is nothing worse then having one of your kids in pain. He just doesn't understand why he has to go through everything all the time. My heart broke for him.
The extra tooth. The tooth fairy came with a special delivery of a Badger blanket and t-shirts.
His mouth is doing 100% better. For the first few days he ate nothing but ice cream, pudding and sherbet. By Sunday he was back to his normal eating. He's such a trooper!
The day after his surgery…..
Our house is going through some changes. We finally got a new kitchen table (one that is hopefully more kid proof) The top of the table is metal!
We also had built ins made! I have no idea what I will put on the shelves but I'm thankful to have all the extra storage underneath.
My poor car also had some changes to it. Someone hit it! I have no idea who or when it all happened and I'm so bummed! As if driving a mini van isn't bad enough now I have to have a big dent in it!
We are trying to fit in all the fun things before summer comes to and end. We've been doing a lot of swimming. The boys are turning into little fish and I'm allowing them to go off a little bit more on their own. Spencer and Easton can do the diving boards in the deep end.
We got out the game Twister.
We've been playing in the evenings outside. Easton was hiding/walking around in a garbage can. He fell over and just stayed there.
The boys built a snake out of clay that was as big as the island.
We met our friends at the beach downtown...
I had my annual girls weekend at Kristi's cabin
We never ran out of things to drink!
We had two floating islands and they were great. We went out to the middle of lake and just relaxed.
Grandma apparently took the boys shopping at Target. We are now the proud owners of this life size power ranger!

Sam came over one morning because Amanda got called into work. It was a very exciting breakfast.
Amanda met us at the park later that day. We had walked to the park but needed to be home. We allowed the boys to ride their bikes home without. Ok…..maybe not without us. We were driving a long side in the van! I'm sure that didn't look suspicious to anyone!
It's almost back to school time. We were excited to get a post card from Spencer's teacher...
After registration at school we went to Orange Leaf for their school fundraiser.
I'm wanting to teach my kids about giving back and doing things for others. We decided to adopt a little girl going into Kindergarten to buy school supplies for. The boys came with me and helped pick out all the things she might like for school. Later we dropped it off at the local bank. They had a lot of question and some were easier then other's to answer about why we were buying the little girl who we've never met stuff for school.
Easton continues to be our fun child. One day he was doing something to bug Spencer over and over. Finally I told him he needed to just go to his room for a bit until he could calm down. The smart kid he is took his microphone with him. He put the base with the speaker outside his door and brought the microphone into his room. From there he continued to annoy/entertain us! "Testing, testing, testing…"
Nolan's head grew since Easter so it was time for a new helmet.

Every year Ryan's family rents a lake home just outside of the Dells. They've been going there since 1989. It's a great tradition. During the week cousins, Aunts and Uncles rotate in and out of the house. It's so much fun to all be together. They have fishing, a beach, a pool, tennis and basketball to keep the kids entertained.
On our way up Spencer was in severe pain. So much that in the 1.5 hour car drive we had to stop 3 times. Finally I made the decision we just couldn't bring him. We turned around and my mom met us half way. Spencer and I headed to the clinic and Ryan kept going to the lake home with Easton and Nolan. Once we got to the clinic Spencer told me his pain was gone and he felt fine! I could have killed him….. basically Spencer now knows what it feels like when you have to poop and you are constipated. Since it was still early in the day we decided to make the drive an join them.
Ryan and the boys were coming back on the paddle boat when we surprised them! Ryan was happy to see us.
The kids did A LOT of fishing! It's great there for the little kids with lots of little fish that are easy to catch right off the dock.
Ryan's Grandma is great! She is so full of life. She was a good sport and pulled Nolan around on the ski trainer.
Spencer got to ride on the big tube with the cousins….
Obviously we have a little dare devil on our hands!

It amazes me with this many people on the dock someone doesn't get hurt more with a fishing hook.

We couldn't ask for a better couple of days… The boys just have no idea how lucky they really are!
This is our last week to be out and about doing fun things. Next week the boys will finish off the summer at Camp St. Croix. I'm bummed they won't be home (I planned this when I thought I would still be working) so today I had a date day with Easton to a water park. Spencer went with our church on their water park field trip and Nolan spent the day with dad. Poor Molly got to ride in the back with kids.
She made the best of it and taught Easton some cool tricks…

Spencer and I are starting to train for our first 5k. He went on a run with me this morning….
Oh summer I wish you would last a little bit longer. I'm looking forward to the boys going back to school just to have a bit more routine in our lives but I love spending our days out and about doing fun things! Here they are eating dinner with their bike helmets in front of them. Surprised we could get them off so they could at least stop and eat for a few minutes!
