Last weekend Ryan finished off celebrating our 10-year anniversary by going to the Minnesota State Fair and seeing Tim McGraw. We tried a few of the "must have" foods while we were there. I thought it was my first time at the Fair but my mom informed me the last time I was there it was to see the New Kids concert!
If you love Tim McGraw as much as I do then you just might want to watch this video a few times!
Hard to believe it's been 10 years!
Finley and Spencer ran the kid's run at the Buckshot!
Could it really be possible? Spencer cried last year because of all the mascots! He may actually be over his fear of them!
They got to spend time at a neighbor's pool!
They went exploring with Grandpa around the lake.
Nolan is starting to want to go potty on the potty chair. He kept telling Grandma when he had to go. We've been working on it a little around here.

Nolan has a new love of anything he can drive.
When we got home it was time to get ready for school and show him all his school supplies. Grandma Nancy facetimed with him while he opened a book from her. The main character's name is Spencer and it talks about his first day of school.
Grandpa John and Grandma Julie sent the boys each a package. Grandma Julie bought most of Spencer's school supplies for him and a new outfit.
Grandma Julie always finds the silliest things.

I took vacation this week so I could be home as much as possible with Spencer. We had a date day one day where he got to pick all of our activities. First we went bowling.
We had the place to ourselves. Eventually I gave up and just let him play for both of us.
We played video games..

We went to a movie. He wanted a gold chain from the quarter machine. Later during the movie he told me it was kind of a girl thing and didn't want it anymore.
The morning of his K-Start (where he goes to school for an hour to spend some time with his teacher 1 on 1) he woke up with a headache and actually threw up. Thankfully he pulled it together while we went to his school.
But then spent the rest of the day sleeping and wanting to cuddle.
He's been working very hard on memorizing his number to get hot lunch. Ryan made him a cheat sheet so he can practice at night before he falls asleep.
He's also enjoys doing his homework.
My plan at the start of each school year it to take Spencer's picture in this shirt so we can watch him grow over the years.

So that night we put some under his pillow.
Of course Easton and Nolan had to do it also...
We read lots of books that night about going to school. We wore Easton out.
Soon Spencer was fast asleep. The night before Kindergarten.
That morning the boys were excited as Spencer got ready to leave. They didn't get to stay to watch him get on the bus as they were off to daycare.

He has informed us when he grows up he wants to be a lifeguard or work at a hotel desk.

Vincent who is in 2nd grade is the leader of the pack. The rest of them are all going to kindergarten. Madden in the white t-shirt is in Spencer's class.

Here comes the bus!
Sam in the green got pretty sad and didn't want to get on the bus. We asked Spencer to take his hand and help him on. He's such a good friend.
Love this little boy. This picture gets me choked up a little but happy for him at the same time.
They were off to school...
I went with the neighbors just to make sure he got to school ok. You never know what might happen in that 15 minute bus ride.
The boys ran into their friend Hollis.
Ryan actually followed him into his classroom where he had to unpack his backpack and put some of his stuff away.
Then he had to find his seat and work on a puzzle until class started
At 4:00 pm I was ready and waiting. He made it off the bus and was proud as could be for surviving his first day.
We celebrated that night by going out for pizza and make your own ice cream.
The boys like this place cause they have a spot with a disco ball and room to dance.
We took a walk on the pier
and ran around the park before heading home.
Saturday was the 2nd annual Neighborhood Olympics!
The events started off with kickball....
Next up was marshmallow golf...
Spencer had to go to soccer practice in the AM, and he wanted to keep wearing his uniform
We took a break from the heat and allowed the kids to cool off on the water slide.
The parents kept playing and did the paper bag challenge where you have to pick the bag up with your mouth, and can't touch the ground except for your feet. After each round, an inch was cut off the bag. It got pretty competitive!
This is amazing how low my neighbors can get to the ground with their mouths and not being able to touch the ground. The first guy below is 6' 5"!

We truly enjoy where we live....
We finished off the Olympics with a scavenger hunt....
The red team was off and running...
It was the blue team though that finished first.
Our kids threw about a good 10 minute fit because they lost the scavenger hunt. Seriously, our kids are super competitive. They get that trait from their dad. I think it's good for them to lose.

We finished off the night with an outdoor movie.
This weekend Spencer also started soccer. He's on a team with 3 of his friends. He really enjoys playing soccer.
In a few weeks Easton gets to start skaing lessons so it was time to try on all of the equipment to see what fits.
