Summer seems to keep slipping away. We have stayed very busy this summer and with the 3 little boys you have no choice but to be busy. I just wish summer would last longer.
This week we headed to Teddy Bear Park. I wonder how many pictures this giant teddy bear has been in?
Spencer has gotten a little attitude lately. He keeps telling me "I'm bored" or he will try to negotiate with me when he says something like "I will listen when you do this for me." Sorry but that doesn't fly with this mom.

They all seemed to have fun though and whined when it was time to leave.
We quickly threw our suits on one afternoon. I grabbed the diaper bag, towels and beach toys and headed out the door. We spent the afternoon playing at the beach. I left so quickly I forgot to bring Nolan extra clothes. Good thing I always carry extra shorts and underwear around for Easton.
Sand makes me cringe. So this makes me nervous with anxiety. I agreed to bury both boys in the sand. The whole time I kept thinking about how I was going to wash it all off of them.
Had they laid their a little bit longer I think they both would have fallen asleep.
After the beach we walked the pier in downtown Hudson waiting for Ryan to join us for dinner.

After dinner we headed for some treats/ice cream. Nolan takes after his mom and was eyeing up all the yummy chocolates.
We remembered it was music in the park so we stuck around for a bit. The boys mostly played football on the side. Ummm yea, you can tell Ryan had to visit some stores that day. Supporting the Target colors.
They did attempt to go out and dance a few times.
It's a great atmosphere and we keep forgetting to get down there to check it out.
Before they left they headed back to the beach and the boys got to play in the sand one last time before heading home.
Our friend Jill has a garden in Hudson. She invited us a long to pick vegetables and do some watering. The boys like picking the cucumbers and tomatoes the best. Afterwards we went for ice cream. Thanks Jill for letting us visit your garden.
I'm trying to embrace this boy world and I've been against weapons from the start. Spencer got to spend his Target GiftCard on a new toy and he asked for this. I texted Ryan his thoughts and we set a very firm rule that these will not be used on each other. If we see anyone hit someone on accident or on purpose they would be off to Goodwill. So far they've done ok.
Easton picked these mini airplanes. He started with 9 and is now down to 5. That's what happens with the little toys, they are easy to lose.
We have new neighbors. Two houses down three older boys moved in with their mom. They are 15,12 and 10. The two younger boys like playing with the kids and are great with them. One night I saw a game of 2 on 2 going on. Our boys are lucky to have so many kids on our street to play with.
We also found out one of them is really good in math. The picture below means nothing to Ryan and I but apparently it's different types of lines. I think we know who we will call when we need a math tutor!

I'm trying to get the boys used to going back to the Y again, so Friday I dropped them off. When I picked them up I saw them playing together. It melts a mom's heart when you see them playing so well together. They all informed me they didn't cry and they had fun.

On Saturday we headed for Green Bay with Spencer and Easton for Family Night. Nolan is still too little to sit through a game. Ryan has been working out a plan with a few of our neighbors for over a year now. They booked a hotel well in advance still not knowing the exact date of Family Night (but took a good guess based on year's past), blocked time on his work calendar to order the tickets for all 16 of us and had conversations after conversations about tailgating and what time we should all get there. So us along with 3 other families enjoyed a great evening. We got to our perfect tailgating spot unloaded, grilled some food and the kids played before heading into the game.

Laurie and I have been friends since Kindergarten.

I felt like I spent most of the night waiting in lines. I waited in lines for the bathroom, food, tattoos and the bathroom some more. It's a good thing I already knew who was going to win the game. For those that aren't familiar, it was an intra-squad scrimmage.
All that matters is these 2 little boys had a blast! That is what truly means the most!
The night ends with fireworks. It's a great event for families to attend. I'm looking forward to next year and being able to bring Nolan with us.

This is the spot that Ryan has traditionally stopped to stretch the legs with the boys when going to games in Green Bay. It's about the mid-way point and they toss the football around a few times before getting back in the car.

Easton preferred eating his candy and watching from the side. It was a little sunny for him.
Don't worry Nolan wasn't neglected. He got some one on one time with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma took him in for a hair cut (poor guy the lady gave him a bowl cut!)
He also got to play with Hadley and Finley.
Nolan needs some help with his steering.

We're going to have a whole photo album of Spencer's crazy sleeping spots by the time he's 10. I see myself pulling it out when new girlfriends come to visit. This is where Ryan found him one morning.
Someone must have been sneaking a treat. I don't know who but I have a pretty good guess.
The boys got into the cooler of ice and would run around throwing it and putting it in their mouths...
...then spitting it into the plants. Great.
Here's an up date from the boys conferences that we've had over the last few weeks.
Spencer: We get daily sheets from camp and here's a recap from a few of his sheets. "Spencer has really shown his ability to make friends and get along with everyone in the group. He is a great team member." "Spencer is always respectful and a great listener." "Spencer is a wonderful boy! He is able to be any ones buddy in our group and this really helps to make our group a strong team."
Easton: Scored high on gross motor, fine motor, language, self help skills and social. They rank him on a 1 to 10 scale and he scored 1s in all areas which is the top score. She didn't really write anything about him but when we talked she said he was right where he needs to be. She's noticed in the last few months how much he's growing up. He still has a few areas to work on like sitting still for lunch and story time.
Nolan: Nolan is very social lately and loves to show off. He enjoys showing people new things he's made or learned. We really enjoy his bright smile and positive energy he adds to our room. Nolan has been teaching his friends to play catch and does a great job at tossing the ball nicely to his friends. We do work on sharing and using gentle touches but he is always willing to give a friend a hug and say sorry if he forgets.
We are so proud of all 3 of our boys!
