Nolan was up first. Only because he was awake first. He's 25 pounds (63%) and 32.5 inches (47%.) He's got a big melon in the 87%. Over all he checked out great. The only thing wrong was that his ear was still infected.
We also had Nolan's conference at school. He mostly received high marks in all areas. He's starting to say more and more words and using his signs a lot. His teachers had this to say about him: "We are going to miss Nolan so much as he moves up into the Explorers room! He is so affectionate and loving with teachers. Nolan has become such a good listener and loves to help teachers during clean up time and any other task. He's got the best throwing arm, he is bound to be a great athlete. We've been happy to see real progress with his verbal skills too. He is always trying to repeat us and talking, even though they might not all be real words yet." Nolan will spend this next week getting ready for his move to the next room. I'm going to miss his teachers but know he will have fun being back with old friends.
Easton was up next. I think in the past few weeks he's gone through a growth spurt. He complains that his legs hurt often and I've packed away his 2t jeans as he's now wearing 3t. He's 32 pounds (59%) 38 inches tall (63%) and his BMI was 15.58. They also checked his blood pressure 96/52. Easton showed the doctor all of his tricks and how smart he is. He also still has an ear infection and we talked about his toes. Easton's 2nd toe crosses over and he has what is called hammer toes. According to the podiatrist you don't correct them until they are done growing but it's something we will keep an eye on.
We also met with Easton's teacher this week. He's seriously such a different boy from the sounds of it at school. I'm happy that he's good for them and saves his stubbornness for us! He also got all high remarks from his teacher and she had this to say about him: "Easton is such a sweet boy and we enjoy having him in the Little Inventors. Easton has grown a lot from when he first started. Easton is very focused and enjoys learning and participating in projects and activities. Easton responds better when spoken to in a calm voice and making sure to ask him questions and having him talk about how he feels and telling him its ok to be sad, angry, and ok to ask him if he would like alone time rather then putting him in quiet time." I will fully agree with that last statement.
Spencer didn't have a check up but we had his conference also. His teacher didn't write anything major about him but the few comments she filled out were: Sports man! He's starting to learn to write his last name. He's getting better at coloring in the lines and loves to practice writing. He's very good at explaining things. Very curious and loves being involved. He takes his time in the bathroom. Loves to keep peace and a great helper. Very creative, patient and it's very important to him to keep all of his seeds on his apple (they lose seeds when they don't have excellent behavior). He can be silly during down time and can get distracted. Overall his teacher thought Spencer was right where he needs to be. It's crazy to think we are already wondering and starting to think about kindergarten readiness.
Onto the rest of our week. They boys love doing the new magnet tiles Easton got for his birthday. It's a great indoor project.
We also got out Spencer's science kit and did a few experiments.

Our neighbors welcomed their new baby boy. That makes 3 boys for them also. His name is Ben! I love having a new baby next door for when I need a baby fix.
Our hill is not that steep nor is Spencer going down backwards. It was more the angle of my camera, but it makes for a funny picture!
While the big boys played outside Nolan stayed busy inside. No, we are not potty training him at all. Sometimes he will point and look at his butt when he's in the tub so we put him on the potty for fun to see if he will do anything.
Mom guilt is the worst. I woke up last week and realized I didn't bring treats to Easton's class to help him celebrate his birthday. I saw Auntie comment on some cute cupcakes that looked like cheeseburgers so I decided to give them a try. Spencer would like mac and cheese ones for his birthday now.

We joined Grandma and Grandpa in River Falls to watch the UWEC basketball girls play. The boys were excited to watch one of their babysitters. It was great until one of the middle school girls sitting in front of us turned around and asked me if I was one of the players moms. Ummm no!
The game tired this one out...
Spencer and Ryan spent the day together while I took Easton and Nolan for their pictures. They went to a place called "Sky Zone" and it's a big facility that is full with different types of big trampolines. They had fund jumping around and then headed out for lunch. Spencer's highlight was getting to drink strawberry sprite.
Grandma and I took the little boys out for lunch also after their pictures. I can't wait to see how they turned out.
Well, my kids didn't get my taste buds. They love salsa.

It's a good thing Spencer's passport expires at the end of the year. This is his picture.
Zoey update: We had Zoey back to the vet this week for two reasons. I was 99% sure her ear was infected and in fact it was. She has a bad yeast infection from all the antibiotics she's been on. The second reason is the growth on her face. One time they told us it was an infection from her tooth that she had removed and that's why she was on antibiotics. It was confirmed though at the appointment that it actually is the tumor growing on her face. They did some blood work and a chest x-ray to kind of see where things were at with her cancer. Remember they told us back in August that she was had several spots on her lungs. That was the reason we didn't do anything about the tumor in her mouth. Well the vet called to say she didn't think there was any cancer in her lungs. She thinks the spots that they saw were arteries or something else but not tumors/masses. WHAT! They sent the films back off to University of Minnesota to have them recheck. Basically they said they could still be tumors but it's unlikely since they haven't changed at all and no new spots have popped up. Ok so now what? She now has nearly a baseball size mass on her face! We could have had that removed back in August when it was smaller then a golf ball. So they are referring us to UW-Madison. She will have an MRI to see the extent of the mass on her face and find out what our options are. I have a feeling we are going to have some tough decisions coming up to make. If we decide to have surgery it would be a MAJOR surgery. Yet it's growing almost daily. Poor ZoZo! I was happy to hear there wasn't cancer in her lungs but it still doesn't make things easier or better. I'll keep you posted as we find out more tomorrow.
